Project Description

Spread over 101 sq. km, Mandal Becharaji Special Investment Region (MBSIR) is the new industrial hub being established in the north – west of Ahmedabad. It is being jointly developed by the Government of India and State Government of Gujarat. It falls in the influence zone of proposed Delhi – Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project (DMIC), a joint initiative by the Government of India and Japan.

Mandal Becharaji SIRDA, a government body formulated to develop MBSIR, takes care of the management, planning of land resources and infrastructure. It has begun implementing its Development Plan using the T.P. Scheme Mechanism. Of the five T.P. Schemes proposed, DPC is commissioned to prepare three along with its consortium partners. It covers approximately 3,200 plots in three villages. The main objectives of the development is the segregation of the industrial and residential traffic, rationalisation of plot shapes, provision of public amenities at strategic locations, retention of natural drainage, and preservation of canals and over 40 water bodies. The amalgam of industries, institutions and residences in this scheme is supported by a well-formed network and hierarchy of roads with regards to the existing infrastructure and settlements.
