Project Description

Netravati and Gurupura are the two rivers which encircle the city of Mangalore towards south and north respectively. Both these rivers are of huge importance to the city and contain an immense potential for a significant water front development to attract tourists and probable investments to the city.

The riverfront master plan designed by DPC aimed to transform the city through an innovative process of regeneration. It was planned to rebuild the riverfront, provide new circulation corridors, develop transit systems, interactive spaces and provide improved infrastructure. It aimed at creating city level public space, rejuvenate vacant and underutilized areas, and preserve eco-sensitive zones with improved transportation network. T.P has been undertaken through T.P Scheme Mechanism.
