Khopoli, an industrial city in Raigad district of Maharashtra is located at the base of Sahyadri mountains. The city has a hilly terrain with several lakes and waterfalls. One of the major concern to approach the design of master plan was to integrate the existing water body and preserve the site ecology. The road network is laid in consonance with the contours and the dwelling units are designed accordingly. The site layout is designed with the consideration to channelise the water and recharge the existing water bodies. Amenities proposed in the master plan include recreational area, educational hub, a commercial centre, convenient shopping facilities and green neighbourhoods.
