Asarwa, a small village in the vicinity of Ahmedabad consists of several heritage monuments besides manufacturing and weaving industries. DPC was approached by Ahmedabad Heritage Centre for a Comprehensive Conservation and Area Development Plan, which facilitates the conservation and development of heritage properties in the village.
DPC, during its initial site visits recommended that the area required an integrated development effort rather than merely the preservation of heritage monuments. Therefore, a comprehensive conservation and area development plan which aids in the conservation and development of heritage properties was proposed. Thereafter, a Programmatic Development was designed to create a city level cultural, heritage and recreational node to strengthen and create awareness of the heritage value in the village.
